captured [s + r engagement ceremony]

This post shares an event session that I had the privilege in capturing last year, so I'm a little late. But hey, better late than never, am I right? Especially, as these two love birds are so naturally picture- perfect, their photographs had to be shared.

Meet Sharon & Rajan. This couple hired me to capture their "rokha ceremony". In Punjabi culture - a "rokha" is an engagement ceremony, where the families from both sides, are formally introduced, all while giving their blessings to the couple on the start of their next chapter in life. The ceremony involves family members, feeding the couple sweets, giving them a small gift as a blessing (usually cash), and then of course, celebrating their engagement!!

Check out these photographs captured during their ceremony. So many beautiful moments captured - it was so lovely to be able to capture the entire family - they all were so warm, welcoming and made me feel like I was apart of the family. (Thank you guys, for allowing me to capture this moment!)

- I.

PS. At the end, check out a few of the images, from our impromptu portrait session with Sharon and Rajan. Right across the street, from the family home was this small, yet magnificent park - filled with long standing trees and lush greenery. We spent 15 minutes or so capturing these magical portraits, and I have to say that I am still obsessed with them!
